Family Reflection Paper

The reflection paper is designed to provide you an opportunity to further reflect on your family’s history, multigenerational relationship patterns, and overall family system. Your reflection paper should include two sections.

Section One: What you learned through developing your genogram

• Describe what you’ve learned about your family history regarding family roles, unspoken rules and relationships between family members.
• Describe patterns you identified and reflect on how you see these patterns impacting your family throughout generations.
• Reflect on any insight you’ve gained regarding the intersection between your ways of being in your family and your patterns of relating with others.

Section Two: Attention to cultural factors Using at least 3 cultural factors from the Hayes’s ADDRESSING framework, describe how sociocultural factors have also influenced your family’s patterns, norms and relationships.

Formatting: double-spaced (12-point Times New Roman Font, 1-inch margins, and black ink only).
