Writing Question

Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The next pandemic is a certainty (based on prior human history). what do you think can be done to improve both our local and global responses to the next pandemic? For example, do you think we should focus on global surveillance and response capabilities in order to detect outbreaks earlier or find pathogens before they become pandemics? Or do you think we should focus on middle and high school education for health and science literacy? There are many potential answers here and you don’t have to choose what you think may be “the most important”. Provide a response and defend it with your rationale and/or a literature example (e.g., news, popular science article, peer-reviewed article). Some of you have mentioned potential approaches in other assignments (essays in particular); this is an opportunity for you to expand and provide some evidence to share with your classmates.
